Placenta Encapsulation

After it nourishes your precious baby in the womb, your amazing placenta gives you one chance to harness its power for natural postpartum recovery!

Placenta has been used for centuries in Traditional Chinese Medicine.  Women who use their placentas report amazing results such as:

increased energy/absence of fatigue
decreased postpartum bleeding
enhanced breast milk supply
prevention of postpartum depression

By the end of pregnancy, your placenta is rich with hormones that allow your body and mind to handle the demands of birth.  Consuming the placenta after it is delivered is a gentle, natural, and effective way to allow your body to balance its hormone levels and recover lost iron.

But--consuming the placenta??  Not for everybody...until now!  Placenta encapsulation is an easy, palatable way to utilize its beneficial properties.

As a certified Placenta Encapsulation Specialist (PBi), I am trained to prepare the placenta according to Traditional Chinese Medicine principles.  The placenta is gently steamed with special herbs, placed in a dehydrator to dry at a low temperature overnight, then ground and placed into vegetarian capsules.  I will pick up your placenta from your home, birthing center, or hospital and deliver the completed capsules to you as well.*  You can feel safe knowing I will always treat your placenta with respect and follow the strictest OSHA and EPA guidelines for cleanliness and safe handling of this special organ.

If you like, I can also make a placenta print or preserve your baby's umbilical cord--sacred pieces of art unique to you and your child!

You only have one opportunity to use this gift from Mother Nature; don't let your precious placenta go to waste!

*  You will need to let your health care provider know your wish to keep your placenta before your baby's birth.  Arrangements must be made to refrigerate your placenta immediately or freeze it if it cannot be encapsulated in the first few days.
